Conservatorium Hotel in Amsterdam

The Italian furniture designer and architect talks to The Wall Street Journal Europe about how he starts his weekend.

Piero Lissoni has been at the forefront of the international design scene for nearly 25 years. Since founding Lissoni Associates in Milan in 1986 with partner Nicoletta Canesi, Mr. Lissoni has worked with just about every major name on the scene, including Boffi, Alessi, Cappellini, Cassina, Kartell, Living Divani and Fritz Hansen. Whether it’s kitchens or yachts, furniture or lighting, residential interiors or entire hotels, Mr. Lissoni has designed it all.
Next month, the publishing arm of Il Sole 24 Ore will release the latest addition to their Masters of Design series: a book titled “Piero Lissoni.” In September, Mr. Lissoni will inaugurate his latest hotel design project, the five-star Conservatorium Hotel in Amsterdam, and stop by Paris for the opening of a Lissoni-designed Benetton megastore on Boulevard Haussmann.
